Everywhere Initiative Challenges in Europe
The Brief
Digital technologies have enabled individuals to connect to the global network, and with the growth of mobile devices we are only a tap away from streaming the latest content or ordering products from the other side of the world. In this environment, local businesses are now competing in a global market for consumers’ attention. Startups have the opportunity to engage consumers and create experiences that benefit local communities, charities and businesses.

Regional Intercity Challenge
How can startups leverage mobile technologies and connected devices to transform the experience of intercity travel?
Finalists:
The Brief
Cities are growing into modern societies, acting as physical hubs in a digital world. Car usage is shrinking in western Europe, whilst high speed trains and low cost airlines are enabling new lifestyles, with city breaks and super commuters becoming the norm.
The change in consumers exposes the challenges that services face in order to meet the new expectations of consumers. There is still a reliance on paper tickets, creating a tremendous opportunity for a startup to bring digital technologies and connected devices together to transform consumer experiences.
The Brief
The global API challenge is a call to action for startups to transform our experiences of international travel using the Visa developer platform. The Visa Developer Platform offers APIs that accelerate access to Visa’s products and services, including payment methods such as Visa Checkout and Visa Direct; general services such as Visa Foreign Exchange Rates and Visa Global ATM Locator; and risk and fraud services such as Mobile Location Confirmation and Visa Transaction Alerts.
This is an opportunity for startups to re-imagine new travel experiences and solutions, from holiday travellers to business travellers and everyone in between.
